A BIG THANK YOU!
I want to thank the voters of the Sixth District for their support and more importantly for their wonderful hospitality as I campaigned over these past few months. I cannot thank you enough for all of the hard-work and countless hours that you graciously gave to this campaign. I want to sincerely congratulate Jim Pratt on receiving the Republican nomination for the Sixth Congressional District. As all three candidates stated early in this election process, regardless of the outcome, we would rally our support behind the winner and focus on the November election. I stand behind my commitment and encourage all of my supporters to stand with Mr. Pratt in the upcoming election.
I can say with confidence that this election is not about Nancy Harrelson, Jim Pratt, or Jim Clyburn. The election this November is not even about Republican or Democrat. This election is not about name recognition or fundraising abilities. It is about the people of this district.
As a life-long resident of the Sixth District, I am intimately aware of the challenges that we face. The people of this district deserve representation that works for them. Under new leadership, we can utilize our resources to equip people and increase opportunity. We need dramatic change that can transform the Sixth District from its long-lasting reputation as the ‘Corridor of Shame’.
I believe that the American people are prepared to bring their own change to Washington this election cycle. Our current politicians should face the same unemployment rate as the people of the Sixth District. We must end wasteful spending. We must limit our ever-intrusive government. We must put a stop to political grandstanding and remind our politicians they work for us.
I want to congratulate all of the Republican nominees. We are committed to stand united behind strong conservative principles and protecting our freedoms and liberties. Together, we can bring the RIGHT change to America. Thank you and God Bless!

Nancy endorsed by Colleen Payne
Nancy Harrelson and Jim Pratt are moving forward in a run-off election for the Republican nomination for the Sixth District Congressional Seat. Today Friday, June 11, 2010, Nancy Harrelson has received a significant endorsement as she approaches the upcoming election.
Former opponent, Colleen Payne has endorsed Nancy Harrelson. Ms. Payne believes strongly that Nancy Harrelson will stand for conservative principles and offers the best potential to challenge Jim Clyburn in the November election.
Having run a campaign in competition with Ms. Harrelson, Colleen Payne is uniquely qualified to understand the intricate dynamics of her competitors. Over the past few months, she has attended campaign events throughout the Sixth District with both Nancy Harrelson and Jim Pratt. Colleen firmly believes that Nancy is best equipped to garner the votes in this unique political climate.

She also has a strong respect, deep appreciation and high expectations for the people of the Sixth District. She believes that it is time for us to shake off the long-standing stigma as the “Corridor of Shame”. This can be achieved when we have congressional representation that is focused on the people of this district.
Pass this along – Charles Early Speech
Charles Early said it best – we cannot allow ourselves to be labelled. We are free to speak for ourselves and are not defined by the media. The American people are awake! Watch his speech at the Charleston Tax Day Tea Party!

May 10, 2010:
Let your politicians know how they’re doing
If you are satisfied with the status quo of your government, then read no further. Continue your life of blissful ignorance and watch the boob tube. Send in more money anytime the politicians need it (You are permitted to moan and groan privately as long as you send in your ever increasing tax dollars and keep silent).
Are you still with me? Then you realize that we are in deeeep dooodooo. Your city, county, state and national elected employees (also known as politicians) will tell you that they never hear from citizens in disagreement. If they have never heard from YOU, then it is time for the power of the pen. Tell them they are f-i-r-e-d, and then write a check to the candidate of your choice and send them some money to defeat the people who must be ousted; your present employees that you wrongly empowered with your vote. The choice is yours; send money now to the candidate of your choice to effect change, or you will send in increased taxes later. The incumbent always has the advantage of fundraising. Your money is necessary to make the necessary change.
As information to those of you who have enslaved yourselves by voting the party line: slavery was abolished by the 15th Amendment to the Constitution in 1865. Free yourselves! With knowledge, you can make an informed choice. Get informed, vote your conscience, and effect change.
Stupidity is repeating the same action over and over with the expectation of a different outcome. When you, the voter, return the same people to office with the expectation of a different outcome, as in reduced taxes and a return to constitutional government, this is the epitome of stupidity. The problem is not taxes, the problem is the elected politicians that spend your money foolishly and then tax you to pay for their wanton and irresponsible spending. The problem is the wrong people in office, people who don’t give a thought for the Constitution or your will. Politicians, like James Clyburn, who proudly say, “We do a lot of things in Washington that are not constitutional.“
There are two national congressional races that are of critical importance to you. Those are the South Carolina 6th Congressional seat held for the past 18 years by James Clyburn, and the South Carolina 5th Congressional Seat held for the past 28 years by John Spratt. These offices are not intended to be lifetime jobs, but to represent the will of the people. F-i-r-e them; they have not and are not representing your interest. Demand change at the ballot box. Vote in a candidate that will do your will. I encourage you to support Nancy Harrelson and Mick Mulvaney. You can make a difference!
It is time we, the voters, send Jim Clyburn and John Spratt down the toilet bowl of history.
What must you do to effect real change? I’ll tell you: you must get informed, you must pick a candidate that will represent the people, you must talk them up, you must send them some money to wage the campaign necessary to effect change, and finally you must get out the vote of others; and get out and vote yourself.

Preserving This Nation!
When Abraham Lincoln left Springfield in February 1861 to go to Washington, one of his first train stops was in Indianapolis. He arrived at sundown to a twenty-one gun salute. Twenty thousand people had gathered to hear him speak. Lincoln however, spoke very few words. “My fellow citizens, I appeal to you to constantly bear in mind that not with the Politicians, not with Presidents, but with you, the question: Shall the liberties of this country be preserved to the latest generation?”
Using the temporary authority granted by the people, the democrats have increasingly sought to control, not govern. With the election of President Obama and the democrat majority, the democrats have become emboldened to rule as they desire. They brazenly admit that they no longer consider the Constitution when making laws. Could it be they have never read the Constitution?
The deterioration of every government begins with the decay of the principles upon which it was founded. Government is the people’s business and every man, women and child becomes a shareholder with the first penny of taxes paid.
With all the profound wording of the Constitution, probably the most meaningful words are the first three: “We the people”.
We are at a crossroad, a time of decision and the path we chart is not an easy one. Problems remain to be solved and they challenge all of us. There are those that say the world has become too complex for easy answers. They are wrong. There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.
Welfare is one of our major problems. We are a humane and generous people and we accept without reservation our obligation to help the aged, disabled and those unfortunates who, through no fault of their own, must depend on their fellow man. But we are not going to perpetuate poverty by substituting a permanent dole for a paycheck. There is no humanity in charity that destroys self-reliance, dignity and self-respect. We must seek reforms that will, whenever possible, change relief checks to paychecks.
We need true tax reform that will take a step toward restoring for our children the American Dream that opportunity is denied to no one, that each individual has the right to fly as high as their hard work and perseverance will take them. But we cannot have such reform while our tax policy is engineered by people who manipulate our tax system as a means of achieving changes in our social structure.
Do we have the courage and the will to face up to the immorality and discrimination of the progressive tax and demand the FairTax?
Are you willing to spend time studying the issues, making yourself aware, and then conveying that information to family and friends? Will you resist the temptation to get a government handout for yourself or your community? Realize that the fight against socialized medicine is a fight that we must continue. Recognize that government invasion of public power is eventually an assault upon your own business. If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals from customers, clients or even government, recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile, hoping he’ll eat you last.
The American people have been waiting for 18 months for solutions to our economic crisis and still there are no answers. I have to agree with President Obama and the democrats though, they have saved and create jobs, the only problem is they are all government jobs with a pay scale and benefit package that is 45% higher than the private sector. These jobs are sustained by a greater tax burden on the American people. We need economic recovery that will lift the crushing burden of unemployment and stagnate wages of our citizens and restore the vitality to our economy and your industrial machine. If we get the government off the backs of the American people we could create millions of new jobs for Americans at all income levels. We need to free the people from the shackles of too much government and adopt the FairTax. Only private industry can provide jobs with a future that will truly empower people and stimulate the economy.
Today is not a time to look backwards. While I take inspiration from the past, like most Americans, I live for the future. We can bring America back – bigger and better than ever, but it will require action today!
We can defeat Jim Clyburn if you are willing to sacrifice time, energy and money. Make no mistake, it will take all three. We can bring the RIGHT change to the Sixth District and transform congress!
